YouTube Jewellery Videos That Help You Buy The Best Jewellery

When you want to buy diamond jewellery, you need to get the best value for money. As you know, value is not just about buying the cheapest thing. The trick is to get the biggest bang for your buck, or pounds. The best way to get good value is to know more about what you want to buy, that's where YouTube jewellery videos can be a big help! What makes a piece of jewellery look good, how a piece of jewellery is constructed, the characteristics of diamonds – and other precious stones. You need to know about the quality of the precious metals used in making your jewellery.

When I started learning about jewellery, I read a lot. Still, I also looked at many videos because jewellery is about visual beauty, the sparkle, and the fire of a diamond. I wanted to find out how precious metals interact with the rare gemstones that All Diamond used in their jewellery. YouTube videos helped me to understand all this and more.

Here are some of the channels I have used and the reasons why you might find them helpful before you buy your next piece of jewellery, whether it is for yourself or as a gift to a loved one.

Videos All About Diamond Quality

The first channel I would recommend to anyone planning to buy diamond jewellery is The Official GIA Channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAf_v-BJ2i1QfoI8GAuBHTw This channel is run by the Gemological Institute of America, the foremost diamond certification organisation in the world and the source of almost all diamond certificates for All Diamond products. Their videos expertly and clearly show everything you need to know about diamond quality. You will learn how diamonds are graded and how to make sure that you get what you want when you buy diamond jewellery.

Here’s one of their videos about how to choose a diamond.

Hallmarking, The Assurance Of Purity In Gold, Silver and Platinum

In The UK we have strict laws about how precious metals can be sold. This legislation is an early form of consumer protection designed to ensure that people were not ripped off when they bought items made of gold, silver and more recently platinum. Not many people know what a hallmark means. The London Assay Office has a YouTube channel that tells you all about hallmarking. Discover what hallmarking means, and why you should not buy gold, silver or platinum unless it has been hallmarked in the UK.

The channel can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/user/LondonAssayOffice

A short video about why items need to be hallmarked.

Jewellery Design – The Reason We Choose A Particular Piece Of Jewellery

The design of a piece of jewellery is why we choose one piece over another. Of course, we want to get the right diamonds, the right precious metals, but we love a piece for the way it looks. I wanted to learn more about how jewellery was designed, what works, what doesn’t, and I found several channels that were a great help.

Bobby White is a British designer, his videos cover many aspects of his business and show how he makes jewellery, some of the basics of how jewellery is made and videos that answer questions about the way jewellery is created: https://www.youtube.com/c/BobbyWhite/

Here, Bobby White shows how to tell if a diamond is fake:

The Larsen Jewellery Channel https://www.youtube.com/c/LarsenJewellerySydney has many videos that cover the design and manufacture of fine jewellery. Full of ideas and insights and very interesting to watch. Many of the videos are very short, but they will give you some good ideas about how fine jewellery can look and what works well.

Learn About Diamond Cutting From A Master!

The way a diamond is cut is the key to getting the best from your diamond jewellery. A poorly cut diamond may lack sparkle, might not be symmetrical and may mean that you do not get full value from your purchase. Diamond cutting is a highly skilled craft and science, a mixture of mathematics and fine engineering.
