But what makes a go-to necklace or pendant? How do you choose a pendant, a choker, a chain necklace or a tennis necklace? Then there are the gemstones. Do you go for a diamond only design, or look out for a design featuring emeralds, rubies or sapphires alongside the sparkling white diamonds?
We were kicking some ideas around the office a few days ago, and we thought we would share some of our favourites with you. We each chose one piece and did not take note of the cost of each item, although it has to be said that higher-priced items did do rather well –of course, you would expect that. If you love a style, we share today but it is right out of your budget, have a look at our collections. This design was the first pick because of its stylish simplicity. This necklace can be an everyday piece, a versatile design that will upgrade almost any outfit, from a blouse and blazer to a polo-neck sweater. We all like this necklace; what distinguishes it from many other tennis necklace styles is how the diamonds are graduated in size around the wearer's neck. The differing diamond sizes give an extra degree of visual interest as the diamonds move slightly and catch the light differently.

This pendant drop necklace was my personal pick. I love to see a pendant necklace on a simple chain, almost floating around the neck or above the cleavage.
As I have olive skin, the white gold makes a pretty contrast with my skin, especially when I have a touch of summer suntan!
Pendant drop necklaces can work well with many different outfit styles, from a bikini to an evening or cocktail dress. If you have never worn a drop with a white blouse with an open neck, well, just try it!
I picked this particular design because I adore how the nine diamonds appear to float between two pieces of shimmering white gold. There's no magic involved; the diamonds are channel set, and the sides of the piece are joined behind the diamonds.
This lovely pendant is one of the least expensive pieces on our list and, I think, one of the prettiest!

Why do we love this one in particular?
