The size of diamonds is measured by its weight in carats. The heavier the diamond, the bigger it is.

Total Diamond Weight

When a piece of jewellery has more than one diamond, the carat weight shown is the total carat weight of all the diamonds. In a pair of earrings, the weight is for all the diamonds in both earrings.

We offer a wide range of diamonds of high quality. There will be no obvious flaws in any of the diamonds used in our diamond jewellery. We use the international standard for grading diamonds created by the GIA, the world’s leading diamond grading and assessment laboratories. The GIA grading system is based on the 4Cs: Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat weight.

Quality Grades And Upgrade Choices

At All Diamond, we use only the best five grades of diamonds in our jewellery. These are clearly marked as follows in our product descriptions: Premium Quality, H/Si Quality, G/Si Quality, G/Vs Quality and E/Vs Quality.

To help you to choose the best diamond for your budget, we offer a choice of diamond grade for many of our jewellery items.

You can choose the quality of the diamond that best fits your budget. Below you can read about the diamond grades we offer and how they differ from each other. Within each quality level, we work to provide the best value for your money. You can rest assured that whatever grade you choose you will be getting a good quality diamond and great value.

Premium Quality Diamonds

Our premium quality range is where our best value is to be found making them the best choice to get the biggest diamond that your budget will allow. Premium quality diamonds are an excellent choice for any jewellery where the diamond is 0.50 carat or less in size.

When you choose a diamond from our premium range, you will be buying a diamond where it is difficult to see any imperfections. As diamond experts will tell you, it is not worth paying for quality that you cannot see. It is better to spend money on a larger stone and higher quality setting.

Premium quality diamonds are graded for clarity and colour.

The colour grade of your diamond will be either H or I, meaning that it is near colourless. Only when you compare a premium diamond to a higher-grade diamond might you notice a difference in colour.

The clarity of our premium diamonds is graded on the GIA 4Cs scale I1 or I2. The ‘I’ stands for ‘inclusions’ which are minute imperfections in the diamond. These imperfections are only apparent under 10x magnification. In the case of large diamonds, it might be possible to see flaws from closer than about 15 centimetres from the naked eye. I2 diamonds have very slightly more imperfections than I1 gems.

H/Si Quality Diamonds

Our H/Si diamonds are a great choice where the jewellery will have a larger diamond size. H/Si diamonds are a good recommendation for engagement rings where the diamond is typically larger than in other diamond jewellery.

Our H/Si diamond range are brilliant white gems without any visible inclusions.

The colour grade will be H meaning that it will be near colourless. Only by direct comparison with a higher-grade diamond will any colour be visible.

The clarity grade will be Si meaning that there will be slight inclusions or imperfections noticeable under 10x magnification. You should not expect to see any imperfections with the naked eye. Some of our diamonds may carry a grade of Si1 or Si2. In this case, an Si1 diamond will have slightly fewer and harder to see imperfections than an Si2 stone.

All our H/Si quality diamonds that are larger than 0.5 carats carry a minimum of Very Good or Good grading. A Very Good or Good grade means that the diamond will have excellent sparkle and brightness.

G/Si Quality Diamonds

Our G/Si range of diamonds are, for most of our clients, the top of the scale when it comes to engagement rings. G/Si diamonds have no visible inclusions and are almost colourless.

The colour grade of diamonds at this level is G. It would take an expert making a direct comparison to detect a difference between a G colour graded diamond and a higher-grade colourless diamond.

The clarity of this range of stones is Si, meaning slight inclusions. These imperfections will not be visible to the naked eye. They will only be visible to an expert under magnification of 10x. Some of our diamonds may have a grade of Si1 or Si2. Si1 diamonds have slightly fewer imperfections and are referred to, in jewellery parlance, as being slightly 'cleaner'.

In this diamond grade, every diamond larger than 0.5 carats has a cut grade of at least Very Good/Good. This quality level ensures a high level of craftsmanship has gone into the creation of your diamond, giving excellent sparkle and brightness.

G/Vs Quality Diamonds

Diamonds of this quality are the choice of those who like to know that they have a top-quality diamond even if only they will ever know it! People who enjoy the knowledge that they have something special in their diamond jewellery.

The colour grade of these diamonds is G. At this level a diamond has a bright white colour, is near colourless. Only an expert working in perfect lighting and with high magnification would be able to identify any hue to the diamond.

Our G/Vs diamonds are graded for clarity as Vs, meaning the gem has only very slight inclusions. You may see some diamonds listed as being Vs1 or Vs2. A Vs1 diamond will be very slightly cleaner than Vs2. Detecting any flaws at this level is a difficult task even for an expert working under ideal conditions with good quality magnification.

All our G/Vs diamonds larger than 0.50 carats carry a minimum of Good/Very Good certification. Very high-quality craftsmanship has gone into the cutting and polishing of your chosen diamond.

When you choose to invest in one of our G/Vs diamonds you will be buying one of the highest quality diamonds in the world.

E/Vs Diamond Quality

The diamonds in our E/Vs collection are the diamonds for you if you want a gem that will impress other diamond experts. Diamonds of this quality are very rare and are purchased by people for whom only the best is good enough.

Our E/Vs diamonds all carry a colour grade of E. Only an expert will be able to detect any hint of colour whatsoever. You are buying a diamond of exceptional whiteness, for all practical purposes these diamonds can be considered colourless.

Please note that although there is another grade of whiteness that is higher than E, we do not typically sell such gems for use in engagement rings. D colour grade diamonds are significantly more costly than E grade due to their exceptional rarity.

Nobody except an expert under laboratory conditions can discern a difference in colour between D and E graded stones. We recommend that rather than investing in a D colour graded diamond, it is better to invest in a larger diamond. A larger diamond will give you a much more impressive piece of jewellery than the practically invisible difference in whiteness.

The clarity grade of our E/Vs diamonds is Vs, referring to 'very slight'. At this level, only an expert can, under suitable conditions, expect to see any inclusions or imperfections. Some of our diamonds in this collection will have a Vs1 or Vs2 grading. There is only a very slight difference between the two, but a Vs1 diamond will be slightly cleaner than a Vs2 gem.

Every one of our E/Vs diamonds with a carat weight of greater than 0.50 is graded at a minimum of Good/Very Good for clarity, cut and polish. You are investing in a gem with exquisite levels of craftsmanship. An E/Vs diamond is for the diamond expert and connoisseur.
